6) Flat Iron Once completely dry, section the hair starting at the bottom with half-inch sections and run the flat iron through the section (must be 450° for coarse healthy hair (virgin), 375° to 400° for very bleached or double-processed or single processed hair). Using the flat iron too high on bleached hair can change the color to a gold tone. Run the iron staying as close to the scalp as possible, for at least four strokes, stopping 2 inches from the root. Begin flat ironing again from the scalp to ends, with five or more strokes (utilize a comb to help hold the hair).
